Our arms were in peacetime stores, we had enough to train, world ops status quo, and the reserves to defend against all what if scenarios.  Normally of course modern warfare is For the production of weapons, and so the industry would already be prepared when our new enemy would arise.

Then the Ukraine, now Iran on behalf of Israel.  Neither truly prepared for, causes beginning in politics as opposed to production.  Two thirds of our weapons and these conflicts do into other hands entirely and did not come as economic plan.

In which case we would have been far more prepared.

Limited minds in warfare always forget about the reserves.  They vaingloriously deplete them, in absolutist missions which always assume too much.  Starting with how long it will actually take.

The Ukraine was to be to deplete Russian assets with minimal our own, we could hold there.  But Iran while feeding Israel's army as well ?

Again, we were on peacetime reserves.  We're catching up, manufacturers are smiling again.  But the political fallout is another tale, particularly among those who came in singing 'America First'.  Israel is no longer an asset, but a liability and we're only there because we're the pawns of two players, Israel and Russia.

While China sells the gunpowder ingredients to us all.  Always the ones to watch they are, mostly because they usually turn up the wisest.  They've been playing this game since our dark ages, and their powder was what got us out of them.
